High Point Furniture Market happens twice a year; once in April for Spring Market and once in October for Fall Market.  No matter when you go, it is always filled with inspiration and wonderful connections.  Here are some of my favorite finds and notable products from my recent trip to Spring Market.

The color I saw the most was green by far, but blues are also still hot, and the earthy clay tones were everywhere.  It is safe to say we over grey.

Ambella had the most delicious fabrics as usual, with lots of embroidery and cut velvets that were to die for!

Massoud introduced a new build-your-own ottoman collection with storage options that is going to prove very handy.

The backs of club chairs seem to be the star of the show as well.  Whether it is the shape of the chair or an embellished detail, the backs of chairs offer a lot of style.

A new vendor to me that I was very impressed with was Luonto.  They are a company based in Finland and have very smart designs that are also very sustainable.  This video I did of their sofa that turns into a bunkbed has gone viral, and I think you will see why when you watch.

The in-person connections we make at Market are just as important as the products we find. I love meeting up TDC Members from all over North America at HPMKT!  It strengthens our community with each other, and it’s enjoyable to put a face to a name.  The Designers Collaborative held a Happy Hour Pizza Party at a local tavern within a block of major showrooms at the end of the day, and it was wonderful to kick back, enjoy, and get to know each other.  TDC also sponsors breakfast for an IDS first-timer’s tour, and it was great to talk to designers.
