From a simple idea in 2014 to a thriving network of more than 500 designers and architects, The Designers Collaborative has become the heartbeat of community, creativity, and collaboration in the design industry.
Here’s a look at how it all began and how far we’ve come:
TDC Timeline Highlights
2014: Heather McManus takes her first trip to High Point Market — the spark that started it all.
2016: The first buying group is born — four New Jersey designers joining forces to purchase smarter, together.
2017: Collaborate To Win is officially named and launched with a logo, private Facebook group, and growing network.
2018: The official LLC is formed, the first Lunch & Learn is hosted, and High Point Market meetups begin.
2019: 100 members strong, our first newsletter launches, and our first Canadian designer joins the group.
2020: Digital tools make collaboration easier and more accessible than ever.
2021: A new era begins as Collaborate To Win becomes The Designers Collaborative through a complete rebrand.
2022: The TDC Emergency Fund is launched to support members in need, and we become an IDS Emerald Sponsor.
2023: 500 members strong. From national events to sponsor partnerships, TDC continues to make an impact in the industry.
2024–2025: From High Point to Paris — global trips, webinars, podcasts, and member-led education mark our biggest growth yet.
