As interior designers, the New Year is a time to look back on the past year to recognize your accomplishments, set goals and plan on ways to improve for next year.
Something that I like to do this time of year is to look back at my gratitude journal to remind myself of all the wins, and struggles I’ve overcome. It’s easy to forget when we are so focused on what is in front of us in our day to day. I also enjoy setting goals and coming up with some rough plans to get me to my next achievements. Part of that plan will be deciding which trade shows and design industry events to attend.
It’s important to identify where you are struggling in your design business, as well. If you’re a designer who struggled this year to make enough profit on your furniture sourcing because clients found it themselves leaving you out altogether, then you should consider joining The Designers Collaborative (TDC).
TDC is a buying collective giving interior designers the kind of buying power they wouldn’t get on their own. TDC has over 300 vendors at wholesale pricing or better so members can still offer their clients great prices that they may find at stores or online while making a big profit for themselves as well. We are stronger together and the power of TDC is in the fact that we have over 500 members and are growing. That’s a lot of buying power!
On top of the amazing prices, TDC has tools, templates, and education to help designers succeed at any level. Our community is yet another bonus. Our members are family and you become one of us, belonging to an elite fraternity. We meet up at High Point Market and other trade shows which makes them a lot more fun and less intimidating if you have not been yet. You have instant friends to tour with as a TDC member.
This year a big goal we will be introducing is our TDC Trips. On top of meeting up at big industry events, TDC is planning inspirational, battery-charging trips to enrich your soul and deepen your design knowledge. You will also benefit by getting to know more members who will join us. This March will be the first of these trips to see an American-made furniture trade show, with a tour of a manufacturer to learn how it’s made, along with museum tours and more. It’s too early to announce our fall trip but spoiler alert, it’s most likely going to be Paris.
Start your New Year off right and become a member of The Designers Collaborative to up your game in the design industry. There’s no time like the present to join us.
